The hammar MA1 hydrostatic inflation system will automatically trigger at a water depth of approximately 10cm/4 inches - rapidly inflating the life jacket with CO2 gas. This prevents accidental inflation potentially caused by rain or spray, making it more suitable for offshore use in comparison with an automatic life jacket.
The life jacket is equipped with an integrated safety harness that features dual attachment points - this is particularly useful when sailing in rough conditions, as you there is a secure tether to the vessel. There's also a whistle and detachable crotch strap.
