Crewsaver's Pro Sensor Elite automatic life inflator provides an additional improvement on the standard MK5 automatic inflator, providing one point of status indication to confirm that the unit has been automatically or manually activated. In addition, the unit also provides the added benefit of detecting if the CO2 cylinder has been pierced, removing the possibility of accidentally fitting an empty gas cylinder.
A great benefit of this inflation system is the functionality of the automatic override, which under normal operating conditions, will activate within 3 seconds of the system being submerged in water.
The automatic capsule houses a powerful spring, which is held in a compressed state by a paper element. When the paper element gets wet, it dissolves, releasing the spring. This action pushes a plunger forward, allowing a cutter to puncture the CO2 gas cylinder. The released CO2 then flows through the inflator head, rapidly inflating the adult life jacket.
