McMurdo FastFind Return Link is the brand’s most advanced personal locator beacon (PLB) to date, designed to provide reassurance as well as rescue in life-threatening situations on land or at sea. It is the first PLB to use the Galileo-powered Return Link Service (RLS), giving users visual confirmation that their distress alert has been received by search and rescue authorities.
When activated, the PLB transmits a 406 MHz distress signal through the global Cospas-Sarsat satellite network. Once the alert and location coordinates have been successfully received, the beacon confirms this with a blue flashing LED, providing critical peace of mind that help is on the way and the user is not alone.
For fast and accurate positioning, the FastFind Return Link uses a dual GNSS receiver combining GPS and Galileo technology. This allows rescue services to detect and locate the distress signal more quickly, while the built-in 121.5 MHz homing transmitter enables search teams to pinpoint the user’s exact location once they are in the area. A high-brightness LED SOS light further assists visual identification during rescue operations.
Compact, lightweight, and rugged, McMurdo FastFind Return Link is designed to be carried on the person. It is manually activated via a secure three-stage system and features a long-life lithium manganese battery capable of transmitting for more than 24 hours, even in extreme temperatures down to -20°C. The beacon is waterproof to 10 metres, suitable for marine environments, and can be supplied with an optional buoyancy pouch.
Built to meet strict international standards, McMurdo FastFind operates reliably across a wide range of conditions, from high altitudes to extreme temperatures. Each unit transmits a unique programmed ID, allowing rescue coordination centres to quickly identify the registered user and respond appropriately. Designed for serious adventurers, boaters, and remote travellers, McMurdo FastFind Return Link delivers advanced rescue technology, global satellite coverage, and the added confidence of return-link confirmation when it matters most.
